Grotten Santé is a Belgian dark beer with an alcohol content of 6.5%. Brewed with spring water close to the Watou brewery and using a small quantity of exotic herbs, the beer is aged in the caves of Kanne, 42 meters underground, where the exceptional climatic circumstances give it a unique aroma and flavour. The bottles are placed here on so-called pupiters and are rotated regularly, a process that Celis chose from traditional champagne producers. You’ll find mouthfuls of caramel, yeast, liquorice, and spice, with bready, woody, dried fruit, and bitter orange overtones that give a smooth, refreshing, vanilla-scented finish to this medium-bodied, chestnut-coloured brew.
