A barrel-aged sour ale made by blending a base beer made from lactic-fermented red ale wort using kettle souring, with Brettanomyces yeast, and then fermenting and aging it for 12 months in red wine oak barrels. Cherry juice is then added for a secondary in-bottle fermentation. It features a complex aroma, including the funky notes of Brettanomyces, the sweet and sour notes of cherry, and the caramel notes from the wooden barrels. The flavor is a deep, refreshing blend of acidity and a funky, leathery note.
