Collaboration with Woodhouse Blending & Brewing.
On March 9th, 2011, Amager Bryghus had a visit from Tomme Arthur and Mike Rodriguez, the brewmasters at Port Brewing in San Diego. They brewed a beer together that day called Wookiee IPA, which became an iconic beer among Amager hopheads, showcasing the love or hate Sorachi Ace hop. Amager’s head brewer, Jacob Storm, later traveled to Santa Cruz, California, to brew a new West Coast IPA with Mike, which they called “Skål”. Amager has now brought it back as “The King of California”, a tribute to Mike and all the unsung Californian heroes of West Coast IPA. It’s a Dry Hopped West Coast IPA with a mix of Summit, Citra, Mosaic Cryo, Idaho Gem, Strata & Comet hops and a US-Ale yeast, with an ABV of 7.2%.
