In 2019 we brewed a big batch of flemish style red-brown ale and aged it in ex pinot barrels. For this beer we selected one barrel with a nice fruit expression (from the initial mixed fermentation). We then transferred the beer into a freshly emptied ex brandy barrel loaded up with 200g/L local plums. We let this age for a further 18 months before packaging. The result has a pronounced brandy character, balanced acidity and complex fruit notes.
